About Pimee Well Servicing LP

Since inception in 1984, Pimee Well Servicing has been an Aboriginal leader in the Oil & Gas industry in Service Rig services. Pimee stresses the importance of employing and providing equal opportunity for aboriginal members.

PIMEE WELL SERVICING LP. is a very successful oilfield service company, committed to the development of expertise in the aboriginal peoples of six First Nations Bands in the northeastern portion of the Province of Alberta, in Canada. Our vision is, and will continue to be, to provide safe, competitive, high-quality services to the oil & gas industry by developing and maintaining skilled Aboriginals in a spirit of harmony, while asking only for equal opportunity.

PIMEE WELL SERVICING LP. is 100% aboriginally owned company, by a group of six First Nations Bands. They are: Beaver Lake First Nation, Frog Lake First Nation, Heart Lake First Nation, Kehewin Cree Nation, Saddle Lake First Nation and Whitefish (Goodfish) Lake Band #128. The Chiefs of each band make up the Board of Directors and each holds a single vote with respect to business decisions.

The CEO is accountable to the Board. Our perseverance and success through the lows and highs of the extremely volatile oil business have taught us the value of good business practices, extensive training programs and safe work methods and procedures. As well, harmonious relationships with major oil producers – and most importantly – a proud work ethic, has been achieved.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company and is accountable to the Board of Directors. The COO must ensure the company is operating in a safe and efficient manner. This individual is dedicated and committed to the best interests of the company’s employees and the betterment of the Six (6) First Nations that own the company.

PIMEE WELL SERVICING LP. has been in the oilfield service business since its inaugural year in 1984. With the original development of heavy oil in northeastern Alberta, a number of First Nations Bands looked at entering the rather risky drilling rig business. However, in 1984, with the assistance of one of the major oil producers, PIMEE WELL SERVICING LP. was created to work in the less risky, more secure, service rig industry. With the assistance of the same major oil producer, a single rig was purchased with a second added in 1987. By 1990, business practices and processes were in place to allow PIMEE WELL SERVICING LP. to strategically expand our services to include general oilfield maintenance.

Our success has been due to our clear focus on the values that will ensure long term stability and growth for aboriginal peoples. Our First Nations Bands are clearly interested in the employment of our people, the development of our capabilities in all portions of business and operations, and a harmonious relationship within the community at large. Although important, financial success is not the primary driver of PIMEE WELL SERVICING LP.

Our success is also due in part to the initial commitment by Imperial Oil Resources (Cold Lake), who recognized the rather significant barriers to employment and advancement opportunities for aboriginal peoples. We work hard to ensure a win/win relationship exists with all our clients. There is no sacrifice in quality, safety, performance or cost of service. Our employees are well trained and proud of our accomplishments and our company.

A strong work ethic, necessary to be successful, is not only obvious in our employees, but has extended to other companies within the Band communities as well. The carry over effect is even seen in our children modeling their parents.

PIMEE WELL SERVICING LP’s model for success does not require handouts; rather, a simple recognition of the barriers to success as well as a fair and honest commitment to overcome these barriers. We are experienced at managing multiple owners, developing skilled employees and instilling pride and work ethic among them. The result is a very competitive oilfield service company.

In conclusion, we are offering a uniquely successful service for aboriginal development. We can provide process and guidance through the implementation of the following:

  • A well defined win/win relationship with fair commitments from both parties
  • A proven set of business and operating practices
  • An extensive training program
  • An excellent safety program
  • A community and employee relations program

The result is a self-sustaining, highly capable and competitive oilfield service company.
