Indigenous Funding options: 
    • Alberta Indian Investment Corporation:  Provides loan funding with a grant equity assistance (Status Entrepreneur Assistance Program), business counseling and mentoring, and financial education.  
    • Indian Business Corporation: provides development lending and financial services to First Nations' businesses and individuals across numerous sectors and disciplines, including agriculture, heavy equipment & transportation, service and hospitality industries.  
    • Community Futures Treaty Seven: purpose of the program is primarily for business creation/start-up and expansion. The small business loans are for asset purchases, equity, and joint venture participation. Loans that would not otherwise qualify at the traditional financial institutions may be eligible if the loan meets the criteria.  
    • Futurpreneur: Indigenous financing and support for youth ages 18-39. 
    • Apeetogosan: provides financial services and supports for small business loan funding, access to the Metis Entrepreneur Assistance Program, online Metis Business Directory, and business advisory services. Phone: 780-452-7951/1-800-252-7963  •  Email: office@amdi.co 
    • Settlement Investment Corporation: provides access to funding and business planning resources for members of the 8 Metis Settlements. 
    • Aboriginal Entrepreneurship Program: provides access to capital and access to business opportunities to Indigenous entrepreneurs and business owners in Canada

      You can also visit this government website to search for any grants from the provincial and federal government. 
       
      Financing 
      I always advise people to speak with their own local bank. Banks usually offer the lowest interest rates. You can also visit the ATB Entrepreneur Center in Calgary. I would even suggest speaking with Alberta Women Entrepreneurs, and BDC Bank.
