Why Use Job Bank?

Are you are looking to hire and want the best candidate for the job? Having an account on the Government of Canada’s Job Bank can help. It’s easy, efficient and secure. More than 200,000 employers use Job Bank and approximately 150,000 job seekers visit the site every day. Job Bank is constantly improving and finding new and innovative ways to reflect the latest trends in the labour market.

Creating a user account only takes a few minutes. Once Job Bank validates your identity and eligibility, you can start posting jobs knowing that you will reach the best-fitting candidates with minimal effort.

How to Post Your Job

You can create and post a job easily with Job Bank’s pre-defined options. With more than 40,000 job titles and 10,000 skills to choose from, you can build a detailed and effective job description to target your perfect candidate.

Create a Business Profile

Highlight the positive aspects of working at your company, such as remote work, amenities, green initiatives, learning opportunities, and supports available for employees. With a business profile, you can promote the benefits of working for your business and increase the interest of potential applicants.

Market to Specific Groups of Job Seekers

You can target groups of people that you would like to hire, including: veterans, newcomers, students, persons with disabilities, Indigenous peoples, seniors, and apprentices. Job seekers can filter for jobs based on these groups. You can also select whether you are looking to recruit only in Canada or internationally.

After posting a job, your employer dashboard gives you a centralized place to view all your job postings and job seeker applications. You can preview and download resumes shared by applicants or browse through the list of job seekers matched with your jobs and invite them to apply.

Find the Perfect Match

The Job Match feature automatically matches your job posting with job seeker profiles. Job Match allows you to view job seeker profiles and invite them to apply to your job. This gives you easy access to potential candidates suited to the position you are advertising.

Resume Sharing

You can allow registered job seekers to apply for your job by sharing their resume directly from your job posting. This way, you can manage and store all the resumes you receive on Job Bank. You can easily view the resumes and download them.
